Some days it just doesn’t work out…Thanks to Wayne for this one.

I’m riding on a borrowed bike this week, a Cannondale CAAD4 with a mix of DA 7800/7700 parts and Ksyrium wheels. Took her up to Mambukal Resort to try her out.
My well worn copy of Cycling Philippines.
I’ve ridden vicariously through much of the Visayas, even my home island Negros, with this book before my steel bike was finished. It would be more than a year later when I rode around Siquijor that I really travelled by bike.
…wanderlust. hala ka..
near the top of a local climb
played with 2 rolls of film during the few weeks my digicam went out of commission, just posting the last few shots
some have a mid-ride cup of coffee, some roadies i know have a mid-ride prayer
Easy Sunday group ride with the oldie roadies, where my Pinoy-made steel bike rubs handlebars with others like a Cipo era Cannondale and a Parlee.
This rest stop was at an eatery in Valladolid. This side faces the coastal highway while the other side faces the Guimaras Strait.
The Lions Club..umm…Lion, in the middle of the climb up to Don Salvador Benedicto.
The Negros version of Baguio’s Lions Head.
one of the local climbs, almost deserted on sundays
La Vista’s clubhouse w/ sweet potato crisps…and instant coffee as a mid-ride drink cause i’m no brew snob.
GPOY (well, my finger, that is)
pliss…don’t laugh.
Since I dropped my camera 2weeks ago, I decided to “seriously play” with a Bell+Howell 28mm toy camera that was lying around. I brought it along on a long ride and had the film developed last weekend.
I had this shot printed to (a)serve as a lesson to keep my fingers out of the shot and (b)introduce you to this saddle that has been making my ass happy this past week.
118/1000: Somewhere Up South
A 90-minute trip from Bacolod to La Vista Highlands Mountain Resort is ideal for anyone seeking an escape from the frenzy of daily life. We’ve been here twice and we just can’t help but love the relaxed vibes and picturesque sceneries the place has to offer.
Btw, make sure to have some stopovers along the way!
I rode past this place a few times. It’s a 3hour bike ride from home, to the west and up a few climbs. There’s a small convenience store out front, the only place to buy cold Gatorade until you ride down to San Carlos or back to Bacolod.
I should pop in next time.

It seemed as if I was the only one on the beach for miles in either direction.
